I do not believe you can... You can download applications, rintones, and pics through a "get it now" feature listed in the menu on the phone, but it does not actually connect to the internet.

I looked, and I personally didn't see one. (I am not to techie in that respect...lol). I believe you would have to purchase a new one if there is one in it when you activate it. I have to call them about the ESN anyways, I can check, and get back with you by tomorrow...

I actually called and checked just now...took less time then I thought. Verizon phones do not require SIM cards unless you are travelling internationally. I obviously do not know if you travel, but it does seem like you will need one... hope that answers your question!
