Nice vintage mother of pearl alpaca or llama. Can be worn as pendant or pin. Hand made. The pin mechanism is 'curled'. Absolutely stunning on a chain! This is the way it's made. This piece is marked 950 which is for sterling. Now before the 'know it all's' come around and start posting uninformed comments on the auction, please do your research on silver. Does 'curled" mean it cannot be locked at the catch? I just love llamas! :)

Oh no. It locks and works fine. It's not the modern ones that slide into the notch and the clasp thingy turns around it. It hooks up under a piece of silver to hold our securely in place. I'm struggling to describe it, so this evening I will try to get better picture of it.
