The listing, Ancient Egyptian Inspired Goldtone NEFERTITI NECKLACE – immaculately elegant;vintage–stamped ‘Korea’ has ended.
As stated by Wikipedia, “Neferneferuaten Nefertiti (ca. 1370 BC – ca. 1330 BC) was the Great Royal Wife (chief consort) of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten. Nefertiti and her husband were known for a religious revolution, in which they worshiped one god only, Aten, or the sun disc. With her husband, they reigned at what was arguably the wealthiest period of Ancient Egyptian history. Some scholars believe that Nefertiti ruled briefly as Neferneferuaten after her husband's death and before the accession of Tutankhamun, although this identification is a matter of ongoing debate.”
The tag on the shiny 24”-long chain is stamped ‘Korea.’ My experience with Korean costume jewelry has been nothing but positive. I am currently wearing a nugget bracelet stamped ‘Korea’ which I wear 24/7. It looks like real gold and has never lost its luster. After some research, I found that Korean jewelry is most likely vintage and is highly collectible. I also found evidence that it is of such high quality that it still shines like new…just like this piece.
The Nefertiti pendant is of unknown metal alloy and measures about 1” long by an average of ½ inch wide. It is bold enough to see without being gawdy. When worn, the necklace’s pendant should rest just above the breastbone on most.
This necklace is high quality costume jewelry. There are no markings on the pendant or its bail, and there are no other markings on the chain except for the Korean tag.
