This is an acrylic on mattboard , hand painted by me, Lucy Baker. It is 8 3/16"x 6 1/8" and is a bit larger than some of my "mini's" I am posting here. I am a professional artist, I've exhibited for 40 years worldwide, I will be exhibiting in Belgium next with these "Mini'" paintings. I started making these , so that everyone can afford to buy my art (my larger paintings are considerably more expensive beginning at $400 and up to mural sized on canvas go up to $25000. (USD) For yrs and yrs I've made very big artwork the average size being 40" x 60" but some 10 ft tall by 22" feet long. And I love to paint large still!! But I thought , there are so many people downsizing , or living in small apartments, young couples just starting out and even singles and teens who want to start collecting now. Times are hard and money isn't how it was when things were really booming, so I thought it would be nice to create small paintings and drawings for all to enjoy! In this painting (you can tell I love cats and animals, just look at all of my paintings) The cat is very much like two I've owned in the past the rounded almost Siamesey feet! 2 of my black cats were like this one. both could straighten up there forelegs just like sticks! And they both had beautiful shiney black coats , they were always washing!! Lol! One, called "Harry" had a tongue like sandpaper!! 20 grit!! Haha!!! But the shine on his fur was so intense in the light , it appeared white!
