Description

The listing, Rare Vintage 8" X 10" Shirley Temple Photo has ended.

Photo has a thick cardboard backing.

This was my mom's! She got it when she was growing up as a child.

She took up theatre as a child and performed on stage at The Steel Pier in Atlantic City w/ a bunch of other young kids singing & dancing and putting on skits etc.

She'd show us kids pics taken from all the different things she had done. She would always be in a different costume in every picture!

I'd say, "Mom, you were just like Darla on The Little Rascals!" She would just say, "Kind of I guess." But that's what It reminded me of.

She got to meet Shirley Temple one time! And also other famous celebrities like Abbott & Costello, The Three Stooges, Bob Hope and others and has signed pics of them! She was kind of like a celebrity to me too!.

She could tap dance & I would ask her to do it & she would put on her tap dancing shoes and do it right on the kitchen floor!

Once on an old b&w film I saw a man dancing and he threw some sand on the floor before he started & my mom told me that was called, "Soft Shoe Dancing" and she could that too! I said, "But mom, we don't have any sand to dance on!" She looked at me& smiled!

Well, she went into the kitchen & grabbed the sugar bowl & started sprinkling it all over the kitchen floor!
Then she started dancing on it just like the man in the movie and it made the neatest sound! She just moved her feet around and kind of let the bottom of her shoes slide around and across that sugar while she was dancing! I thought it was the neatest thing ever! lol.

A fond memory I'll cherish forever!

Any way, all Listia rules apply!

Excuse me but it's not weird at all! I have lots of photos of celebrities that my mother had. This is only one of them! Is it weird to give away a photo to someone who will treasure it? Guess it all depends on your way of looking at things. I get joy out of sharing things that will bring others the same joy! And yes it is real!
