I am not sure what year black letters started, but the red letters are older. This is just a really nicely made vase. I am so Japan and not signed. I have never liked that terminology. A signed piece, whether it is jewelry, ceramics or any art form is exactly that, signed by the artist. Thank you.

I know its just dos'nt make sense but I do believe it started around 1930's with the stamped state of origin. Prior years had actual artist signaturs of some kind! Thank you also!
