Questions & Comments

People should realize that a reinstallation disk is setup to ONLY TO REINSTALL XP onto a computer WITH XP ALREADY ON IT. Not to install it on an empty hdd.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but it IS more difficult than using an install disk, and it's not plug & play.

More difficult is the fact it's meant for a DELL, something that could be recognized programatically for at least the last 15 years, and may cause you grief if you're not putting it on a Dell.

Just FEI.

Though, Full Disclosure, I AM probably going to bid.

I always wondered that myself, I thought perhaps one could reinstall on any computer. But if in fact someone has tried on a different kind of computer and failed, than it is truly meant for only a Dell.

This is the reinstall of XP on a new dell with the XP OS already on it. I've got this one for my laptop. I had to get a new one from Microsoft when my old one cracked. It's not meant to be a new install of the OS and it has a horrible time working on anything other than a Dell with XP on it already. Good luck to you, nice auction.

you can use this as a clean install on another machine IF that machine has a COA....you can install it on any Dell with XP and it will automatically register
