And it would probably cost more...remember, this is a rather large item and the shipping is covered by me which will not be cheap.

Shipping is free...but I'm guessing on average about $65-$100 depending on the carrier I choose and destination. I'm hoping that my generosity will pay off and not bite me in the @ss...LOL!!!

I may be putting my auction at jeopardy, but I really don't care right now. If you have the credits to bring joy to your child with a brand new bike, but choose a costly item for yourself instead...shame on you! This is not promote the bike, but to share my memory as a poor teenager getting a new bike. It was the only new bike I ever received and I have never forgotten it. Sorry if I have offended anyone.

Do you know what the rider weight limit is?
Apr 30th, 2011 at 7:09:47 PM PDT by
Original
After browsing an online FUJI Owner's Manual, I believe the weight capacity for the mountain bike is approximately 300 lbs.

It can be difficult sometimes interpreting comments...sometimes they're just misunderstood and sometimes people try to sabotage your auction. Thanks for setting me straight 'natahoa'.

I think both UPS and FedEx are kind of expensive, but if you work for a company that has an account, or you know someone who does, or can go into a college mail office (they won't know you aren't a student), you might be able to get a much cheaper rate. With something like this, it's worth checking. I really hope to win, won't have enough to GIN this week ... but I'm trying!

I have 3 boys, and now I am wondering if this may work for my 13 yr old. I was originally thinking for my oldest, but we found him one locally. Do you know around the height of the person this would fit?

This bike is rated to suit persons 5'4" to 6'0". Three boys...WOW!!!

I think Fed Ex is pretty cheap when it comes to big items too.

Thanx...I think it will really depend on WHERE I'm shipping to. Doesn't really matter to me much as long as someone really appreciates it.

Typo, sorry, they get the "bulk" rates, way cheaper than normal shipping rates. My daughter just shipped a large box from her college, they told her to use UPS and I couldn't believe how cheap it was.

Have you checked how much it would cost to ship UPS as opposed to USPS? Sometimes UPS is cheaper than USPS for large items. Also, if you have a college in your town, see if you can ship it from there. They get the blut UPS rates, probably about half what you'll pay as an individual. Or, if you or someone in your family works for a company that lets employees ship stuff from their warehouse, that's also usually a very cheap rate. Plus UPS is usually only 3 days ground.

Well, I gave it my all...It is cheaper for me to buy a bike than buy credits for this one. People must save up their credits for years, I just can't compete -for this one or even a purse. Thanks to local Classified Ads, My son will be riding an awesome Trek this summer. If there is a way to gift my credits, I'd love to know - you can have em.

Maybe you can just hang in there a bit longer and keep saving your credits... i know it seems like forever but it pays off.

The $50 Gift Card can be to anywhere you want to get a helmut/waterbottle or whatever. I just wanted to make sure that the new owner had the opportunity to ride safely.

Wow this is a FANTASTIC auction!! The shipping is steep but I can promise that you will get TONS of credits. I've never seen anyone auctioning off something that was so costly to ship. I wish I had enough credits to compete but I don't. I have fanned you and will be watching to see how well you do. :D
I bet everyone is going to start Listings Bike's now. Lol. It's always nice to start a trend, right? :)

Oh, I also wanted to agree with one of your comments which I liked as well. Growing up poor myself, I can still remember the first bike I got ( I was about 9-10yrs old) It was pink and purple and a little scuffed up. My Parents got it from a thrift shop but It was NEW to me. That's definitely a memory I personally will never forget.
I apploud you for being so generous. :)
Good Luck Hun..
