what does it say around the front of the lens, I can see the botton portion, but, not everything, is it a minolta lens, what mount, auto or manual or both? etc... thank you. :)

Is this a MINOLTA lens? Also, what Mount? I've been looking up the 500si and cannot find out its mount for sure, is it an Alpha mount or just Minolta AF mount, I'm trying to figure out if it will fit onto my MInolta maxxum 7000 as well as Sony dslr. :)
Hey torris, I can zoom in and know about these. As a Minolta is is an A mount. Only used for this line of cameras. The lenses where made by a company called sigma. What you are seeing on the front is actually a screw mount uv filter. This line of cameras can take other lenses than the sigma a-mount brand but only prime lenses with an adaptor.
