I have up for you another black vintage like pie bird! i first purchased these in our vintage shoppe in our small town! it instantly brought back memories of my grandmothers pies lined up on the cupboard cooling with her little birds poking out of each of her pies! i knew then i had to have the black one and his mate the white bird and i purchased all she had left in her store to share with all of you as you all seem to love them as much as i! these adorable little birds are made of fine porcelain ! ive been told by a few that these are rare ! and ive been told by one that my little bird is new and not rare at all! as far as i know i purchased it in a vintage store for more than the 5.00 that i was told he was only worth ! sigh ! i dont know ! all i know is i paid alot more than that and i purchased it because of nostalgia reasons also! and because they work so darn great in baking! so i wanted to share my memories of my little birds with you! you fill your fruit or meat pies half full insert your bird in the center , fill the remainder of the pie around your bird then take your top crust cut a ~x~ in the center poke your birds beak thru this and seal edges ! while baking the steam will escape thru the hole in his beak thus keeping the juices in the pie! after you cool on cupboard and have your bird poking his head out cooling you can make your own set of memories! i hope you enjoy him and maybe his little mate too ! free shipping also♥thank you♥
