The number 1 reason why prong collars are so controversial, is because animal 'lovers' claim they hurt dogs. 100% of these people either haven't seen/used one or they have misused/seen someone misuse on a dog. I have mentioned this before and will say it again. Prong collars do not hurt or injure dogs WHEN USED PROPERLY! Yes, prong collars can be painful when used incorrectly, but so can any other tool! These collars work by putting pressure on multiple points around the neck with blunt prongs, in order to communicate emotionlessly with the dog. The split second of discomfort SUCCESSFULLY tells the dog not to do a certain behaviour. The prongs cannot and do not puncture or injure the dog's neck in any way. Have you seen how dogs play? They are constantly mouthing and biting one another's necks. The prong collar, if used properly, wouldn't hurt as much as that. Dogs necks are built to be stronger than ours, so if I can yank a prong collar when it is around MY neck, it won't come close to hurting your dog regardless of size.

I agree that if used PROPERLY it is a training TOOL. I have trained many dogs with many different methods and have never even had a negative reaction from a dog using a prong collar. Plus you can always get the rubber tip covers. Anything, if used the wrong way, can cause pain or damage. Even regular everyday collars can cause damage if used the wrong way or in the hands of the wrong person. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion :)

Agreed a tool is just a tool as is a gun. But why make them so easily available to monsters; fools & idiits.

There are too many people that use things like this in an inapproprate and harmful manner giving them a bad reputation. I agree that if it is used properly by someone who actually loves there dog and wants to train it and not hurt the collar can be a useful tool. It is by no means meant to be left on the dog for long periods of time or used as a regular collar. It is meat to help and not torture the animal.

I am very happy to have found another collar like this up for bids. I have two dogs and only one training collar. The harness just doesn't work for my Boxer and I would love to have this for his training.

Idiots. People should have to PROVE they can handle them. Just like they do for first time gun owners. Just my opinion. Funished from above. Hard typing on my phone. As a dog rescue helper I see the damage these things CAN inflict.

Dont listen to other people's rude comments. They are clearly un-educated about this training tool
