Hi, The word 'gemstone' is about genuine gemstones like peridot, citrine, etc., and opague stones like tiger's eye, onyx, agate, etc. What is this gemstone? Thanks.

You have a good point. I don't know what this is.

You're very welcome. You would be surprised and very dismayed to learn how many members have blocked me from their auctions and even sent untruthful and downright mean emails to me solely because I have the temerity to ask what the "gemstone" is! I am considering leaving Lisita for good and writing a bad review of the club on Google and elsewhere. I have been an eBay member for many years and my feedback is and never has been less than 100%! Ditto for paperbackswap and bookmooch, etc. I'm pretty new to Listia and can't see why I should be expected to bid on 'gemstones' without asking first what the 'gemstone' is. In every case the seller either says they don't know what it is or even if it is a gemstone, yet they list as 'gemstones'. The dishonest sellers with less than 99% feedback write me ugly, slanderous emails and block me but never answer my question as to what the 'gemstone' is, and "hide" my perfectly legit email from the auction site. I emailed Listia about this but no response yet. How Listia handles this situation will determine whether I stay or go. Frankly, at this point I am quite upset, have never encountered anything like it! Listia has unlimited potential and could be a real boon to people, but it will not grow if it doesn't "police" the site and make sure there is no fraud occurring or being tolerated.

I have found Listia to be vigilant about such things. The biggest problem I have is people being upset about "shipping." I can never understand why people just don't bid if they disagree instead of becoming so mean and rude. But in general I like Listia. Most people are pleasant and kind. I hope you don't leave. We need good people.

Thank you so much for the validation...I needed that, LOL! I'm sorry to say I heard from Kevin at Listia today and his email asked for the auction nuimber when my original email to him told him I didn't have one as the two fraudulent gemstone auctions by the same person were blocked when I asked her what the gemstones were (she also hid my question from view from other members) and there was no visible auction number I could find since I was blocked, I guess. I wasn't writing him entirely about the two bad auctions (I gave him the person's user id and he should have been able to find all her auctions with that; she didn't have very many anyway, but now they've ended and had bids. How awful.) This member wrote me the nastiest email stating all sorts of things about Listia blocking my auctions, etc., and I emailed Kevin to ask about that, but in three days all I got from him was a request for the auction numbers. I'm not a happy camper at this point, but I am strong and determined and ethical and will never give up, in general. Listia has to step up to the plate because 80% of the gemstone auctions are not gemstones, I've checked to be sure because I need real gemstones and fakes won't work for me. Kevin needs to post instructions, whatever, whenever the word gemstone turns up in the auction title or in the auction description, reminding members to be absolutely certain the stone(s) are real gemstones before proceding with the listing. That would make a big difference. Some will lie anyway, but it certainly would reduce the number of falsehoods. Sorry about taking your time with my troubles. And thank you again for the kind words.

I wish you the best. I received another item that says "gemstone." This one looks like a gemstone but I have e-mailed the seller to ask her what the gemstone is. You make a good point. God bless.
