The 8-cent Wildlife Conservation Series stamps were first placed on sale at Warm Springs, Oregon, on September 20, 1972. Designed by Stanley W. Galli, they showcase the beauty and preciousness of nature's creatures. Depicted within the four stamps is the Fur Seal, Cardinal, Brown Pelican, and Bighorn Sheep.
