This is a Beautiful Necklace- I won it some time ago but have never worn it- It has Turquoise Beads & Silver Birds
on it! I looked it up on the internet and it is called a Fetish
Navajo Necklace and it is probably made of Sterling
Liquid Silver- it did pass the Magnet test so it is Silver-
The Necklace is 18 inches long- and Very Pretty!

Hi, you say you "WON" it some time ago...where did you win it, and what is the exact provenance of the piece? It does 'appear' to be liquid silver, though, I can't see the top of the necklace well enough to tell for sure. The Magnet test is not conclusive for determining whether a piece is made of silver...Lead, Zinc, tin, aluminum, bronze, brass, gold, platinum and titanium, none of these react to a magnet. Another method, if you don't want to ask a jeweler, or get a test kit, is the 'ICE METHOD'...Silver platinum and gold all transmit heat far faster than the base metals, so, if you have a piece you think might be silver, you can place equal amounts of ice onto the piece you are testing, and onto a piece of steel (like a dinner knife, or spoon), and watch them melt.If the piece IS silver, the ice will melt significantly faster than on the steel. Hopefully this helps...

Thanks for the information- I won it on Listia and have listed it the way it was listed when I won it-I checked out other Fetish Navajo necklaces and a lot of them are made out of Liquid Silver-lol
