montegzym, I am fully aware of poppy production on Morocco. That however has nothing to do with the meaning of the poppy on the blade. When I was in Oman I had it explained 2 different ways, that's way i said i was unsure of the true meaning, if there is any one meaning.

One meaning: The Poppy is a symbol of death and rebirth. The Poppy plant does not die. If the plant visible above the ground dies the bulb bellow still lived and the plant regrows. So the Poppy represents death and rebirth.
Two: the Red Poppy in particular represents blood and death but also relief from a painful life and therefore is seen as a gateway to death. So some soldiers had Poppy Flowers on their weapons to help ease the death of the person they killed with it.
It is seen as a protection in battle. That's why I said not really luck, but deeper than that.

The poppy itself is such a part of the culture. It has been a major source of trade for many Middle Eastern Cultures . Much of the prescription Morphine used in the US comes from raw opium imported from Morocco as well as other countries like India Tasmania and Afghanistan.

This is a Moroccan Jambiya. The flower on the blade is a Poppy Flower, but I can't remember the significance. Many Jambiya blades have Poppy flowers on them. I know part of it is luck but it's meaning is deeper than that.

Awsome that no one tried to clean the blade. That is sacrilege in the collectors world. Definitely Watching and Fanned!

Damascus blades are folded yes earlhandy but that means nothing. The usual etching people see on the blade is exactly that etching. It is not the layers of steel as they are not visible #1. #2 damascus steel will rust also which if you look at the pics it would appear to me and anyone who knows knives that it is most likely exactly that...damascus

I think it's so funny that people keep thinking the rumors that people comment that you can't list knives if a cretin length. When there is NOTHING about length in the rules. Only rule they have are about knife types.

Commonly illegal knives such as automatic knives, push knives, butterfly knives, switchblades, etc

These are about function of the knife NOT size. This knife does not fall under any of those types.
