I know, just my luck - geeze. Anyway, To fan someone - just click on their picture and it will bring you to their profile. There will be a little bubble by it with the words - Become a fan. You can check you fans too by looking at your own profile - click list under your fans and you can see who fanned you - you can fan them back there too. I fan the members whose auctions and items I like - and anyone who fanned me. You are not dumb...it takes a while to figure out (I'm still working on it)

Welcome! I am fairly new myself, but what I have gathered is that everyone fans each other to get more xp, badges, etc. It takes a while to get used to but I am already addicted...LOL There are some nice items people list, but my only advice is to get your credits up before your hopes up. - I still have not won any auctions yet.
