Re the earrings - it all depends on if you know where they came from and if it was stated somewhere on the tag that they were silver plated or surgical steel or some say "nickel free". Lots of people, including me, can't wear ear posts that have nickel in them. But if you don't know, then there's nothing to be done about it - except maybe state in your description that you don't know the type of metal.
