It is a women's top that was purchased for a special occasion that was never used.

It measures 30 inches from shoulder to bottom in the front, and it's one of those that is slightly shorter in the back

This top was to be worn by a woman who typically wears "2X" tops, but it drapes, so I could see how it would look good on women of different sizes

As far as the material it's made of....It's the soft kind that they only use on female clothing.

There's no size on the top? Would it be to big for a woman that wears an xl? The length is perfect for me.

There isn't a size on the top. It would really become the size of the wearer. That's probably why there is no size. It adapts to you. It might have more character on a person who's only xl.
