Perennial grows in zones 5-9. This vine almost growers itself but be careful it spreads really easy by its seeds. Humming birds, bees, butterflies all love the red bloom on this vine. Full sun to partial shade. I would not plant close to any structure. This is bare rooted so soak the roots for several hours and then plant at previous depth. Can be pruned in spring or fall. Plant will be between 1-2 foot

Hello I was wondering why you wont plant near a structure???? I love this its so pretty and I was thinking of putting it on the east side of the house and have a trellis for it to climb does it withstand the cold I live in Wisconsin so do I have to dig it up for winter ?? I am a landscaper, not knowing this seller's reason (maybe because it will grow up the structure?) But,I can give this advice: never plant anything closer than 2' to your house as the water can cause mold to grow into your house base, walls, etc. Also, the water attracts bugs, and if near your home, they will more likely invade it. Hope this helps all gardener's! : )
