Nifty all glass chess set. Smoked glass versus clear! Comes with mirrored board. Smaller (board is 8"x8") but very decorative....especially in right light!

Yes....all solid glass. That's why shipping fees. It is very cool but I feel I must reiterate: It's not large. It is as stated: an 8" x 8" board and the pieces all have a 5/8" base. I guess I say this again as although it's a unique set and it looks really cool I prefer it's very clear that it's a mid-sized set.

But yes, it is solid glass and very attractive! I wouldn't part with it if I wasn't forced to downsize.

If I win the bid, would you ship only the chess pieces? I am interested in the pieces only as I make my own boards out of granite. You could keep the board to relist.

Ummm....yes...I'm sure I can. lol (I'm laughing because you stunned me with your query.)

I bet your boards are gorgeous! (You did see these aren't big pieces....just pretty. The board is 8"x8". I'd hate for you to make a big, beautiful board then the pieces look small.)

On the plus side, I measured the bases of the pieces and they're all exactly 5/8" so if you were so inclined you could even make a tip-resistant type board. (Although I imagine granite is harder to drill a short well in than wood.)

TY! One set is frosted glass and the other side is clear....just like the squares on the mirrored chessboard are frosted and clear. It does help to be sober &/or at least in good lighting though! lol
