This is a dell inspirion with a 350gb hard drve . I have had this computer for 2 years One day I turned it on and just could not get it to come on the desktop If you look at the pictures you will see the power is on the computer and the cord. does the screen turn on at all? I see the lights on power cord and on front of laptop but if the screen don't com on it has more wrong than needing a reformat

Im sorry but I have to agree with eojsdrawkcab if the lights come on and the screen doesnt turn on the motherboard is not functioning. If it were a hd issue it would still display but wouldnt boot. If it were a memory error it would give 3 short beeps.... then repeat. Remormatting th hd will be impossible if the screen doesnt display.

nope one day i turned it on and no screen and yes you can do a reformat and bring it back if it is a virus. I did computers in the military for nine years. I just dont have the time or inclination to do it anymore. so I thought i would put it our here for someone else to play with if they wanted to also what is not mentioned is anyone that uses the GIN will get a red wireless mouse to go with it. have a nice day

ok the reason i say i dont think its the mother board is because before it was taken apart it worked just fine I honestly think somehting is not hooked up right but i am not a pro i did computers in the miliitary many years ago and these new ones i need a new class onl i can do most things but have realized one wrong connection and all goes to hell in a hand bag sorry.
