2 Canadian nickels...

**The first 2 pics are year 1923 front and back, the grade of the coin is VF-20 which means it is worth approx $9.

**The second 2 pics are year 1945 front and back, the grade of the coin is EF-40 which means it is worth approx $8.

They both come in protective cases, they were taken out for picures only. They are very nice coins in great shape!

NGC rates the 45 at $6.50/MS63, but it is worth what someone will pay, right? Really nice coins, both of them. You obviously have done your grandpa proud taking care of them. :)

How coins graded? Thanks

The primary purpose of grading a coin is to determine what the coin's market value is based on how well the coin was originally struck, how well the coin metal itself has been preserved, and how much wear and damage the coin has suffered since it was minted, and where it fits on the 70-point scale.

My grandfather had all the coins in his collection graded and when he passed away he passed them on to his grandchildren.
