The listing, 2008 Upper Deck Yankee Stadium Legacy #2206 ALLIE REYNOLDS has ended.
Are you a REAL New York Yankees collector?
The 2008 Upper Deck Yankee Stadium Legacy collection separates the men from the boys when it comes to collecting baseball's most legendary team. The cards, randomly inserted in 2008 Upper Deck products, celebrated every game ever played at Yankee Stadium through the team's history until that point, and with one card per game, the set stands at a whopping 6661 base cards. A promotion offered the first 5 collectors who completed the set to meet Yankees captain Derek Jeter at a 2009 game, as well as cards #6662-6743, the 82 games for the Yankees final season. Ironically, the first set was completed by a Cubs fan; a card featuring the collector's achievement were issued in 2009 Upper Deck Series One baseball.
Allie Reynolds was a star before he reached New York, compiling 51 wins in 4 seasons with the Cleveland Indians, including 18 in 1945. With the Yankees, he exploded, making it to 5 All Star teams in 8 seasons. He won over 130 games in his tenure in New York, and was 13-4 in his last season, but was forced into retirement by a nagging injury caused by a crash involving the Yankees charter bus. He won 182 games in his career.
