It's the coin that's important. It's 1882 old mexican republic. I would have sold it for the silver but if the coin lasted this long then I figured it should stay a coin.
An 8 Reales coin traditionally weighs 27.7 grams at minting and is .903 silver content. The $20+ price range is fair, but it all depends on the condition of the coin. The melt value - about $14 is outweighed by the numismatic value for a collector. This is a nice coin. F & W
