I am not sure how to do a gin. Is it something you have to declare when you list the item? Still learning all the intricacies of the listia process. William t
While listing there is an option for GIN which stands for Get It Now. Do you can have a set price someone can pay up from to automatically win the item
William, GIN stands for "Get It Now". You can not offer a GIN of any number of credits until you earn the Seller's Wings badge. I have no idea how this works I just know I have mine. It costs 50 credits to offer GIN on any item. Those 50 credits are refunded to the seller only if a buyer chooses the GIN option, and then Listia takes 10% of the total GIN amount. For example, if you offered a GIN on this poker chip of 2,500 credits and I clicked "Get It Now, you would receive 2,250 and Listia the other 250. Personally, I prefer not to GIN; and when people ask you to GIN there is a high likelihood that the item will either sell well or will sell for more credits than the individual who is asking has to bid. There are also some people who well know what they're doing try to take advantage of newbies. You've now been warned, lol ; )
Thanks for the clear explanation. I understand how this works now. I also agree that at least half the fun of listia is to see exactly what an item will bring. I will probably not use the GIN option. Also, thanks for the warning. Happy bidding to all!!
Just set the Alarm on my phone! Want to guess the song I made the Ringtone from? It's really not a well known song now that I think about it. I do have better things to do, I'm just procrastinating. I'm really good at it too ; )
