In 19th century New York people used to flock to mysterious collections of oddities called cabinets of Curiosities. In modern times a building is being torn down. They find remains of 36 people murdered and dismembered 130 years ago during that era. Museum archeologist Nora Kelly and special agent Pendergast investigate and it takes them through the museums archives to an old mansion with more grotesque oddities. They discover evidence of a strange doctor who did experiments on human beings. Then new murders occur. What do the events of the past habe to do with the current deaths?
