The listing, Double White Stock “Gilliflower” (Matthiola incana) 8+ seeds from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello has ended.

Stocks are native along the Mediterranean from Greece to Spain and were a mainstay of European gardens in the 16th and 17th centuries. The Elizabethans called them “gillyflower” and the Victorian allowed them in their cottage gardens.They were brought to the United States by Thomas Jefferson and continue to be a garden favorite throughout the world. Stocks have lush blooms and a spicy clove scent. Stock flowers symbolize “lasting beauty”.

It’s a fragrant, two-foot tall, attractive flower that likes full sun, good, well-drained soil, and temperatures under 75 F°. They can even tolerate a light frost. USDA Zones: 3 - 10

These seeds came from The Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants at Monticello. You will receive 8+ seeds. I always include a few extra seeds (hence the "+"). I also include an informational insert about the plant when you win seeds.
