The listing, Giant White Bird of Paradise has ended.

This is a gorgeous plant that gets VERY large! Also known as The Travelers palm. The flowers are over a foot long and a beautiful blue and white in color. These can be started indoors and then moved outside once they have outgrown their containers. They need a sandy well-drained soil and should not be planted too close to the house or you will be pruning constantly. They are a tropical plant, but will grow in colder climates...they just wont get as large. Can also be a houseplant in front of a nice sunny window. Bidder will receive 5 seeds from my backyard plant. Thanks for bidding!

What zones will these make it through the winters outside? I have an inside plant but know there are some that survive winters.

I'm not sure exactly...I had one Listian tell me that she has an outside one in North Carolina. She said it didn't get as big as the ones down here in Florida, but that it has frozen more than once and survived...just lost a few leaves....that's the furthest north I know of...Hope that helps. Oh, well, what's a few credits? I should be worried about getting seeds to come up, not whether it will winter here or not. My green thumb does not do well with seeds. So, we will give this a run.

Hi Cathy---I'm certainly glad someone is talking up my page! Anyway---I post these whenever my plant gives me the seeds to do so. I'm running low right now so it may be a while....or it may be next week...the point is...I have a giant plant that gives me a never ending supply---so I will certainly share these again!
