Although it is not against Listia rules to list items you will order for the winner, please understand that the credits will not be awarded until the winner verifies receipt of the items. Good Luck with your auction.

@priceneronn: 499 credits isnt too much for something that's free shipping. plus there are lots of auctions that someone orders stuff for others.

You can't use it anyways, wonder why? You will need a proof of purchase, which I am sure you don't have. Especially for a requested minifigure and further more, the missing pieces service shipping will take 2 weeks, which then the winner will say they didn't get it. Have a nice day,

If these allegations are correct, this is an incredibly despicable abuse of the Lego replace-a-part system. It is this kind of thing that's going to get Lego to shut down the program, rampant abuse like this. Listia moderators need to take a closer look at this.

Goodness you guys are really blowing this out of proportion. There are plenty of other auctions where someone auctions an item that they order from another website for the winner. Any the winner knows it. If Listia is saying it's not against THEIR rules, than why are you guys making it seem unethical? Listen to nicwinn35 and just move on.

He still has to pay for the item, they don't just give you lost pieces because you ask. I have legitimately used the service a few times, twice to replace missing figures from sets. Also they don't guarantee they will have the piece you request. Figures are sold as individual pieces: bottom w/ legs, torso w/ arms, head and any hat or helmet all separate. You fill out the form of what you want and they email you if they have the prices and how much they will charge you for them. MANY are out of stock so the only issue with this auction is there Is no way he can guarantee a specific figure will be available.

Many times they will have most of a figure but be out of stock of one or more parts, like have all but the torso and arms or be out of an accessory like a backpack or helmet that makes the figure special. They will put you on a list for back order on some items and some are just completely out of stock. Basically, unless it's a figure that is part of a set currently available or sold in the last year or so, it is most likely going to be out of stock.

Since the Lego Movie has yellow-head figures, would they fall under the 2k or less?

Don't try to cover yourself up by making more excuses, you're going to indeed abuse this system to ship it to the winner's address.

Of course he's an adult. Since you have to be 18 to have a Listia account in the first place, a kid would never lie and break any rules to have an account on here. So obviously there are no kids anywhere on Listia. What were you thinking to even question?
