I have a 320 GB by western digital that came out of a HP g62 laptop. I can convert that ? What about windows 7 that was on laptop ? Thanks for your replies

it measures 2 3/4 x 4. will it fit ? on the hard drive the cable just pulles off looks kinda like a usb plug thats black or a compact flash camera card. sorry for so many questions dont want to get something that I cant use.
