I would love to do this but I am wondering if my baby is to old for this she is already 11 months... do you think she could still learn it?

Yes she can still learn it, i started at 6 months, but my daughter turns a year this week and we are still teaching her new signs. Its not generally till 9 months that they have the hand coordination to sign back so i think starting when she can sign back will be more rewarding to you. They can learn it any time, its all about the consistency. They say babies are the receptive to learning in the 1st 2 years, definitely go for it

I am a babysigns instructor and my son is going to be one tomorrow. He knows all these signs already and our communication is phenomenal : drink, eat, more, duck, potty, bath, yougurt (It's one of his favorites so he picked it up immediately) milk, avacado (again, he eats a whole one everyday and LOVES them), help, book, blue (Loves Blue's Clues) and for monkey he just makes the monkey noise. This should be convincing enough that if you actually do it and make an effort everyday that kids really can learn it and it makes a difference.

thats so great, i wish that i wasent learning the signs with my daughter, i think that it would have helped her pick them up faster, Im still learning most of them, before i had her i knew drink, baba, more eat and medicine, so its a learning experince for both of us we are planning on trying for a second baby soon, so im hopping that haveing taught my one daughter and useing it with her will help with the second, plus i will have my little kaelyn signing to the new baby with me. it is fun. i love the communication, i truley feel closer to my daughter because i can meet her needs before she is upset.
