The listing, Silver Plated Tray with Glass Insert has ended.
This is a silver plated tray, with a (heavy) glass insert.
I have been unable to find any information on this item.
This was a house warming gift given to my parents when they purchased their first home, approximately 40 years ago.
Although this appears to be unique, at the time it may not have been, because we received -two- of them from two different people.
Mysteries:
1) I have no idea why there is a picture of a train on the front of the box.
2) I cannot find any manufacturer logos.
3) L'argenterie is not the manufacturer's name; it's french for silver plated items
4) It was made in Hong Kong, and has No.1019 on it, but nothing else to provide any type of information on the provenance of this item.
My guess is that this was for sale at a Five & Dime General store (anyone remember Ben Franklin?).
