Description

The listing, Cucuzza (Italian Squash) seeds has ended.

Cucuzza (pronounced "ku-koo-za) is a very long, light green, Italian squash. The inside is a firm white flesh, similar to that of eggplant. The taste is a little sweeter and nuttier than other squash. It can be cooked like any other squash. My grandmother used to make THE best cucuzza stew! Luckily for you, I have the recipe and the winner of this auction will get a copy.

The cucuzza grows like a vine and needs full sun and a trellis to support it's weight. I will include growing instructions with the seeds, as well.

You will get six seeds. Believe me when I tell you that six plants will produce more cucuzza than you are going to know what to do with! If you save at least one or two of the cucuzzas, you can dry it our like you would a gourd and save the seeds for next season.

are they like a cucumber/ zucchini squash with a soft skin or do they have a harder skin ? Do you eat the skins or peel them like eggplant?

The skin is like that of a yellow squash. I suppose you could peel them if you'd like, but when we make stew with them, we just cut 'em up into slices skin and all. Other recipes might have you peel them, but I've never used them for anything other than stew. Hope that helps!
