A very nice auction! However since you brought it up, you might want to consider laying them flat when taking the photos so that they don't curl around the rods. Just a suggestion. Fanned and watching. Joe

Please tell me you're joking!! Too much for a Friday morning when I'm only half away awake because I stayed up too late last night trying to get these listed - only to be told my creativity is not comic-worthy -- again! And I have to work all day - with no sympathy, I'm sure. I see you dabble quite a bit in comics; doing quite well with it, too! I had put in another listing about how I came by these comic books. A little rural town in Southside Virginia, Kenbridge, used to have an annual 'Jackass Derby' as a fundraiser. In case you have never witnessed one, you don't know the fun you missed! Well-known volunteers in the area would actually ride donkeys/mules, and we all know where the saying came from that you're "stubborn as a mule." They all left from a starting point and ended at a designated point. They could only advance along the route when folks contributed money. They stopped drivers at all entrances to the town and hit 'em up for money. One rider might pay to have another rider 'arrested' and detained until someone put up $ to get him out. Needless to say, it took a while for someone to get to the finish line! The contest was advertised on radio and occasionally they'd offer a consolation prize to the next contributor that came by. Well, that's how we 'came by' our stash of comic books. They were quite new at the time, and we packed them away until I thought of bringing them out for Listia - and there we are - my vintage comics! Thanks for checking in.

That doesn't really answer my question...

Well - I can answer it at least 2 ways: If you're seeing something all bent up, it's not in MY auction! Or - That's YOUR question, YOU answer it! Have a fun evening.

1. You can clearly see in the picture above that the comics are bent around that stupid pole you have them on. 2. What you said makes no sense. If I asked a question, why would I answer it? If I had the answer I wouldn't have asked in the first place, correct?

1. The comics are not bent in any way - they are loosely draped over a towel-warming bar that hangs horizontal on the wall. The picture is turned around vertically so they could be easily viewed by those looking at them. Many offices have similar display racks for magazines. If you had read some of the other posts on my auctions, you would see that everybody has been kidding back & forth. This seemed to be one more joking remark being made. Therefore - 2. Many folks jokingly answer a silly or joking question with "that's your question, you answer it." So, if you were not kidding and thought I had actually bent the collectible comics around a stupid pole, forgive me. I will in turn overlook your remarks as bordering on rude because you didn't see the whole picture.

Inspired by your tenacity Kittydeals, I have collected comics for 4 decades, as long as you didn't leave them on the towel warmer while it was on and left them there, you have done nothing wrong. F&W and looking forward to more like it. Brang 'em and slang 'em.

Much appreciated, David. That towel bar only heats up my morning towel - not comic books! They were draped maybe 60 seconds for the photo shoot. Guess my creativity for a little fun in displaying wasn't appreciated. Wait until the naysayer sees several of them displayed in a monster-sized aloe vera plant I have! Only have a few more to give away, and then I'll be done with them! Fanned you.

Fanned and watching but out if my league right now. Great way to display them for the pictures! Very creative in my humble opinion!

Love ur auctions. U seem to take criticism of every kind well. Keep that up. As an avid collector I see no probs with ur new system of taking pics it is creative. I have an extensive coll.many of value that r cgc'ed. Not that it makes me qualified. however I would have to agree with another listian that commented earlier, flat surfaces would b better. Merely a suggestion. Keep doing what u do. Your friend Punisher1. Excelsior.

Thanks, Punisher1, for checking in and commenting. Didn't realize how serious collectors are over comic books that were originally intended to be 'fun' reading. Certainly didn't mean to cause an uproar! I promise to be more sedate with the rest! The last ones will be coming soon...

I too....see nothing wrong with the way you displayed your comics for the photos! Now...if they where MINT...then you wouldn't want to wrap them around the towel warmer, but as you had said, they are in GOOD readable condition! Great comic auction Kitty! Keep up the great work and don't let the peoples comments get to you! Your new Listia friend, China Mike

Listia doesn't just have great auctions, the best part for me is the great folks I'm 'meeting' here! Please note my previous comment that the books weren't wrapped or curled around at all on the towel bar. I think most of those looking at it still don't understand that. The spine of the books were up toward the ceiling and were opened in the center for the back half of the comic to drape over the bars. The comics were photographed crossways, and I turned the picture around by the computer photo program, which, I guess, makes it look like the back part of the comics were wrapped around, but they weren't. Anyway, it's almost over with! Slightly less than 2 hrs to go. I appreciate all those watched, bid and/or commented. Made for an interesting auction for me! Good luck to all the serious bidders! Thanks.
