Description

The listing, Heirloom ✽ SAN MARZANO ✽ Paste Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

We loved this tomato for cooking this year. San Marzano makes the best canned tomatoes and tomato sauce. Very productive, compact plants produce loads of 3" long, red, plum shaped tomatoes that are quite dry and have only a few seeds. They cook down into a thick, rich, delicious paste quickly. Fruits hold well on the plants and the plants keep producing until frost. Very crack resistant, perfect fruits. A canner's delight, originally from Italy. I always make a point of adding these to my salsas as well as my marinara. There is also a San Marzano hybrid F1 available in catalogs. This is the actual heirloom variety and will be true to seed.

Days: 80
Size: indeterminate
Season: mid-season

Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: canning, salsa, sauce, fresh eating

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.

Yes, no worries. Some of the auctions say it, some don't. I ship all to PR just like the rest of the U.S.
