The listing, 10+ Heirloom Italian Romanesco Seeds has ended.
With a vivid color, a natural fractal, and a more delicate nutty flavor than a traditional white cauliflower, these heirloom italian romanescos are a fun addition to any summer/fall garden! I've had 100% germination with these seeds this year, over 2 separate seedings.
Questions & Comments
I'm sorry but you have this poor ole country boy confused. I eat cauliflower often, but I never have seen anything like this one. Is the picture of one "head" that one would break apart, wash and eat like we do the white ones?
I'd never seen anything like it either until I got to Germany! It's pretty common in europe, and I guess that makes sense since it's originally from Italy. Tou've got it figured out, the picture is a head and breaks apart just like normal cauliflower. Besides the appearance, the only real difference is the flavor, it's quite a bit more delicate than white cauliflower, lighter and nuttier. If that's even a word. More nutty? Anyhow, here's a little more info and some recipes to get you started! http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2009/10/seriously-italian-broccoli-romanesco-recipes.html
