It's sad that Nintendo WFC has shut down, so this item is pretty much a collectible. You can't use it for online play anymore.

I checked inside the box, this headset uses a USB to connect, so I'm not sure if it will work on other consoles. I will have my daughter test it out on her PS3 to see if it works on it...stay tuned for updates.
