It's a narrative-focused JRPG, which means it has a strong story/big emphasis on story itself. The combat plays out like a typical oldschool JRPG, but the story is pretty much the strongest part of the game. If you like JRPGS with good stories and colorful sprites, you might enjoy it. The story takes quite a few twists and turns and can also be a bit grindy, but I was pleasantly surprised by the story more than anything. I think the game actually was made by someone who used RPG Maker, but they seem to have stopped short of creating the other two supposed episodes in the series. I can barely find info on part two, let alone a third one.
