This was recovered from our fishing nets 90 miles off the coast of Florida. Don't know more about it except it was recovered off the coast 90 miles south east of Miami. Shipping is included in the bids.

If it were from a long long time ago I would think it would have crustations on it. It looks clean. Have you cleaned it? How does it close if it's a brooch? Is the picture of the front or back?

It's Alpaca silver and the design is Peruvian... The piece is relatively recent made no more than 20 years old, but still a cool find. Treasure from the sea!

I had soaked it in a Jewelry cleaner for a week it is still a bit dirty and could be cleaned by a Professional. The back has a clasp that unlatch's. I didn't force it as i didn't want to damage it.

No, I did not have it tested. I used logic that if it were not some other metal it would have rusted or corded. It did look like it tarnished a little but not green, Therefore it is not silver or copper, I assume it is some form of White gold. How much i do not know.

I agree with Sherri definitely Peruvian design and they never use gold for this design the most common is alpaca :)))
