I'm an artist...I find inspiration every where. The metal work reminds me of medieval armors like the ones worn in GOT. Also, the spirals are inspired by celtic/nordic gods, which in a way the mythology is based of on the show ;)
But really...it all boils down to inspiration. A jar or field could bring about inspiration. I never said this was a replica of something worn on the show...its simply something "inspired by GOT"
