Oh, y'all are in for a treat! I found an Estate Sale and the lady must have LOVED scarves! I went to FuzzieLizzie Vintage Clothing site to help date the scarf. So... according to all of the info about the signature, this would be a split wing tip Vera Neumann 1950's scarf. It is a beautiful blue color - actually a bit darker than the photos show (maybe my lighting was too bright). I would call it a dark denim color with black//dark navyand white dots and starburst patterns.

If you follow my auctions, you know I like to find out a little something about the Estate Sale if I can... like who they were or what they enjoyed doing. I was in a rush, so all I know was that she must have LOVED to dress up - SCARVES, PURSES, HATS, were packed into her place. Lovely home in Dallas - smelled no smoke and my home is also smoke-free (except when I burn supper while trying to cook). It is 25 inches across from tip to tip when folded. It appears to be PAINTED on designs to silk (just from what I can feel on the fabric). There are 4 tiny pin holes that I can see if I hold it up to the light. Since they are evenly spaced (2 on each side), I am assuming she put a brooch though it at one point. 100% NOT noticeable unless you hold it up to the light to inspect it as I was just doing - 'cause I wanna list the very best items and let you know what you are getting! I would call it, SUPER CUTE vintage item - and in perfect vintage "loved condition".

This is a beautiful scarf, however I do not see the ladybug associated with Vera Neumann https://www.facebook.com/pages/Vera-Neumann/53372246815. This may be a Vera Wang scarf, who is equally well known in the fashion world.

You are correct - there is not a ladybug on it. If you check out the website I hinted at in my description (since Listia doesn't like us to put a website in there), it shows the different years these were made. It shows which years had the ladybug (more current years), which had the circled R, which had lower case 'vera' , which have upper/lower case, and which have no signature but just have a tag. According to all that I have read, this would be a 1950's 'vera' with the lower case signature. I have listed other Vera scarves and at first, when I researched them, I thought they might be Vera Wang... but alas... nope... all seem to be Vera Neumann. Thank you. I wish I could wear more scarves. They look so pretty, but can't stand anything around my neck... so most scarves last about 10 mins on me. Figure when I find a nice vintage one - better to put it on Lisita - instead of trying to keep it for myself when I know I would never wear it.
