Description

The listing, VINTAGE 1950s - Vera Neumann signed scarf - red/white/blue - split wing tip design has ended.

Same Estate Sale as the other one I listed tonight. Super cool Vintage 1950s Vera Neumann signed - split wing tip design scarf! According to FuzzyLizzie Vintage Clothing site - I date this as being from the 1950's because the signature is in all lower case.

What a GREAT vintage piece! Adorable for any patriotic event.. white with bright read patterns and blue splashes. I think they look like those little white flowers you snap up on and blow... to make all the seeds spread. Well, except they are blue... and on a scarf ;)

Rolled edges, feels like silk or a silk blend. It DOES have the lady's name on a tag attached (which I think is charmingly vintage)... but if you don't like it, you could remove it. Who puts their name on a fabric tag and attaches it to a scarf? Well, Mrs. Carol Morrell did, evidently. There is a spot of dark discoloration right next to the lady's name tag. If this bothers you, DO NOT BID. I think it a beautiful piece!

It is approximately 26 inches from tip to tip (when folded in half). This is a wing tip design, meaning it is shaped like a diamond with an open seam up the middle.

I ship SUPER FAST - normally within 24 hours of your win! I almost always include tracking too. AND, how often do you get package in the mail that looks like a present? Well, if you win one of my auctions.. I believe in decorating a package to make you smile! (I know it makes the ladies at the post office smile just to see what I have done this time... ha ha).

NO BIDDERS REMORSE! If you bid on it - make sure you know EXACTLY what you are bidding on BEFORE you bid! If you want to see more pics, let me know. Be sure to send me your Listia address SUPER FAST, because I will be packing it up to mail immediately!

Happy bidding! :)

Just a note about name tags. My brother went to SMU in the 50's. Every item of clothing he took was required to have a name label.

Thank you for letting me know. I thought it was odd - but evidently - quite common for that era.

People used to sew their names onto expensive items so that if lost, they could get them back! This would've been very pricey at the time. I love it!

I had no idea! Thank you for letting me know. I had seen mom's write in the clothes of their kids - with a permanent marker, but never seen personal tags on a grown-up's item.
