I think this is from the 1920's and was put out by the METROPOLITAN LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY and is chock full of "made from scratch" recipes in every category you can think of.These old books are just filled with tips and hints that even today's modern cook can appreciate.all listia rules apply.
Questions & Comments
Hi there I my a new wife with triplets on the way I do all my cooking from scratch so I truly truly hope to win this plus I love old things like this its a big part of history witch I also love that you
I am a "from scratch" cook as well and I discovered the value of the old books when I was looking for a receipe for pudding.I went into my mom's old Fanny Farmer cookbook and found exactly what i wanted.I like to know the very basics of cooking. Why you should use this instead of that kind of stuff.GOOD LUCK TO YOU.
7 day isn't that bad,it costs credits to do a 3 day and I work a lot and have grandkids etc.etc.T he ones I don't care for are the 21 day,I don't see the merit in dragging it out that long.I usually get bored and forget about them altogether.
There is a gold colored banner with the words search-browse-list auction.click on list auction and follow all the prompts.when you get to the bottom there will be a prompt off to your left, click on it that is where you can enter your starting bid if you wish and change the # of days but there is a provision to changing days, and to me it's not worth it.after you have everything the way you want it,hit submit and your auction will go live.
I'm new to Lista and love it. You find so many wonderful things on here. I love cooking very much and am going to travel to take cooking lessons around the world one day and its items like these that inspire me. I hope I win but good luck to everyone!!!!!
