This auction is for a compaq presario 2500 laptop computer. It has windows xp home edition. In great condition. Very clean. Upgraded computer so I have no need for this one any longer. the fan is acting up so when computer is on it makes noise. I can probably get the fan replaced or cleaned up if anything, its like 5 bucks on ebay. its not the fastest computer in the world, neither the slowest. its pretty thick but not to humongous to take to coffee places and such.

bigtank82...You had ask aout making a cd of windows xp home edition. Well I have torn down and put memory in and other things. I am self learned.
1) You can download it onto your computer, but it will not run; because whatever another person copies or sends will not be the the ORIGIONAL with the SERIAL # you need to run it. Best thing for you to do is shop online at craigslist.com in your city under sofware to see if someone is selling theirs or someone can part with theirs that they are not using anymore because they upraded or changed to another system. This is the windows operating system software you are needing.
Also you can go online and download a copy of an upgrade to yours. I'll see if I can find you this; since you might not know awhat I am talking about. No offense, just trying to help you out. Take care....Sounds like you do need to take that computer in...

SWEET listing...I used to have one of these. It worked fine for what little I needed it for. I havw a desktop Dell I custom ordered with everything I wanted on it. Question: Can you tell me since you're in networking: I have 64MB 100MHz 3.3V SDRAM 4K Refresh Memory New in the box by OPYIONS by IBM. I upgraded by IBM laptop from 32 and added this 64 card into it. CAN I TAKE out the 64 Megs and upgrade my dell some more? I know when I purchased it I ordered it with MS Win Xp Prof Srv pk 2, Dell Dimension DIM 4700 pent 4CPU 2.99 GHz 3.GHz and 540 MB Ram. Is there anything you can think of that I might need to upgrade? I have all software upgrades including virus ware.....? I mean in hardware? Your thoughts. Other question Is what would you perfer the best, fastest laptop outhere on the mkt? I say this becasue I have always thought my laptop was slower than my sesktop. Is that the usual thinking? Sorry for the questions. I emailed my friend this site and your auction for this. She wants just somethign small for her daughter 12. This should be fine for her. Thanks

If I won this laptop, could you tell me how it would be shipped? Would you be using packing peanuts, bubble wrap, etc for extra protection? The reason I'm asking is because I bought a laptop off someone on Ebay and it arrived damaged. Since then, I've been leery about getting something like this online again. hey, i totally understand. i feel the same way when it comes to buying great things and receiving it damaged. i was thinking of using bubble wrap around the laptop, double bubbles probably+ peanuts (pink ones) and Styrofoam thingies. i will ship with insurance and tracking number even if the winner doesnt ask for one. basically i pack good =)
