RULES FOR THUMB WARS:
Thumb wars is a game that has been played for generations, regardless if you are young or old I am sure you remember this game. However, just because everyone has played one form of Thumb Wrestling or another, does not mean you understand what are the official thumb war rules. Sit back and take a minute to learn the timeless rules to this fascinating game.

Thumb War Rule 1--- You must start each game with a chant, the specifics of the chant can be negotiated at the beginning of each match. In case you don’t have a favorite here are three you can use: a--One, two, three, four, I declare a thumb war. b-- (long version of #1) One, two, three, four, I declare a thumb war; five, six, seven, eight, try to keep your thumb straight. nine, ten, let’s begin.

Chant c is truly from the Thumb Wrestling Federation: Four, three, two, one, who will be the strongest thumb?

Thumb War Rule 2: Pin your opponents thumb for five seconds. Often the length of the pin will be decided on a per match basis. A pin is considered an established length of time where the opponent cannot move there finger from contact with the top of the other opponents clenched fist.

Thumb War Rule 3: Make up other rules to expand the enjoyment of the game. Going based on rules #1 & #2 only serve as a means to get the game started. After a best of three, if you have not started bending the rules I bet your opponent certainly has.
