The listing, 1940's! VINTAGE! Pure Silk - Vera Neumann Scarf - silk, PAINTED pattern - PRE DATES HER PATENT! has ended.

1940's VINTAGE VERA NEUMANN SCARF!!! Another Estate Sale find in Dallas, Texas. This may be the oldest Vera Neumann scarf I have found because it PRE-DATES her patent. It pre-dates when they were signed, and STILL HAS THE WINGTIP TAG. Pure silk! And the copper/gold colored pattern seems to silk screened on - or painted! The pictures do not do this justice. I will try for better pictures. The leaf pattern looks like a dark gold/copper paint. I would call the red, a DEEP brick red. Holding it up to the light, I can see some tiny pin holes (why do women put a pin on a VINTAGE SCARF?). From the research I have done, it should be from the 1940's (from other scarves I have seen on eBay, some priced at $80 with the same markings).

Folding in half - from wingtip folded over wingtip, it is 26 inches wide. I LOVE ESTATE SALES and finding little treasures. WHO WAS VERA NEUMANN? Her company began at her kitchen table in 1947 and grew into a multi-million dollar international business. All Vera products started as original pieces of art from her own hand and sported the distinctive Vera signature (often with a ladybug) trademark. After years of being dormant, the beloved Vera brand is back and is experiencing a resurgence among old and new fans alike. THIS SCARF PRE-DATES her TRADEMARK! How excitingly vintage!!!

I ship the CUTEST package you will find on Listia - ask any of my customers - it looks like a present when it arrives. I pay for shipping and tracking, and I ship within 24 hours of your win!

The home I bought this in was FILLED with little treasures that a fine southern lady would have had. You could tell this lady LOVED to look put together! The home seemed smoke-free, and mine is also.

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS - ASK BEFORE YOU BID - NO RETURNS! This item is from the 1940's, so it does have some wear! IF you have condition questions, please ask for more pictures before you bid!

Waiting on those pill boxes, girl! Lol! :-)
I really can't wait to see them. Am I going to need to earn myself some credits?

I had hoped to list them on Thursday, but I may be busy that night. Watch for them next Monday night... and will likely do a 10 day auction on those pill boxes, so you have time to scoop up and save some points (maybe watch some Listia videos for points).

This is the last and oldest Vera Neumann I have. I do have a couple of other vintage scarves to be listed soon, but they are not Vera scarves. Went to an estate sale this morning before work... no scarves, but she had adorable pill boxes! I snapped up a bunch of them. Will keep a few... and will list the rest.

To the person above, it's best to start with a low bid. It'll go way up! The bid you see is not necessarily the high bid. If I bid 1000, it'll still show 353 until it goes over my high bid!

Love this!! Gotta keep an eye out for your others auctions! I really want to start going to estate sales, any info you can give me on starting up p.m. me please I need some guidance lol already your fan you know that, definitely will be watching and bidding on this one!! :)
As far as the bidding to: wesleyalijo - It always starts out low, people just hope they will get it low but at the end it's a race! I have never seen anything worth value stay low...usually ends up out of my range grr lol so don't be gun shy you will be shocked! just give a good description and some good amount of days on it so people can get a chance on it. I don't do the 3 day thing..to short for me. I find 7 days or 10 is good for me but you might want to go longer. :) Just saying! Would love to see what you have to offer!! :)

It probably wasn't vintage when they were sticking pins in them, and they probably had no idea it would go UP in value! Its very pretty!

You have an excellent point. Didn't think of it that way. At the time she pinned it, it was probably just some favorite scarf she had for a few years.
