Description

The listing, 1884 US Indian Head Penny FREE SHIPPING has ended.

This is a 1884 United States Mint INDIAN HEAD PENNY that is totally impossible to find in circulation today. Minted over a HUNDRED and TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO! A real early Indian Head Penny. It has been in my personal collection for quite some time. There is no mint mark on this coin.

It is in fair condition for its age of being over a 125 years old, but has been in circulation with some tarnish as expected for a coin with this much age. Has not been in circulation the last 35 yrs at least, due to being in my collection. It has not been graded. This coin was the precursor to the Lincoln Head cent we know today.

Another nice coin with MORE TO FOLLOW.

FREE SHIPPING via 1st Class Mail in the USA. Delivery Confirmation, at your option is $1.75 paid thru PayPal only.

NOTE: *New Terms*

I've experienced some bidders who have claimed non-receipt of the item they won and I shipped. 'Mediatiion' thru Listia results in credits taken back and given to the bidder if the seller cannot provide Delivery Confirmation and the bidder claims the item was never received, I will provide Delivery Confirmation at your expense paid thru PayPal at YOUR OPTION. If you choose not to pay for Delivery Confirmation I will still ship FREE but any claim for non-delivery or loss thru the shipper IS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY and NO credits will be returned.

-see below terms as provided by Listia-

'Shipping Safety: Paypal is the safest way to collect payment for shipping. We do not recommend asking for cash, checks or money orders. Please securely pack all items to avoid damage and theft during shipping. Secure shipping is your responsibility, so you should always add tracking to packages so you have shipping proof in case of a dispute. Read more about avoiding scams'

Sorry for these changes but in order to protect sellers and bidders LISTIA has now forced me to protect my account from 'scammers'.

NEVER FORGET------got 'em !!!!!

yes, I really wanted to avoid having to make this statement especially in the spirit of Listia but a few incidents forced me to. I tried multiple shots of the coin and wasn't able to get anything really clear. I think it's a result of the 'fair' condition listing and age of the coin, it's the oldest Indian Head penny I've ever owned and shows better in person than in a photo. Hope that helps and good luck!

I hate to hear people having issues with mailing stuff and people claiming non-receipt. I have used Listia a lot and ebay a lot and based on the rules of Listia and the copied part you pasted, I believe it's still your responsiblity to add delivery confirmation (even though you posted the 'warning').
I'm just saying that because even thought they are your terms, they may not hold up... I'm not sure. And, if you do charge for delivery confirmation, I think you will have to upgrade the light package to a parcel first class package in order to add delivery confrimation and would end up costing about $2.51 total, so fair shipping would be .44 less at $2.07 :) Hope that helps.

Yep, I agree, I 'grew up' with eb*y when I joined them in 1998 and saw a lot of growing pains as they developed a more secure 'business model' concerning shipping/deliveriy issues. Listia is growing too and a portion of their moderators decisions on credit refunds, shipping claims etc, is based on your own personal history and the reasonable steps you've taken to insure a good transaction. The 'spirit' of Listia is supposed to keep things relatively 'free' and act as a barter system. One of the only ways to prevent this type of fraud would be for Litia to change the rules and insist that a buyer or a seller MUST use a deliver confirmation service (or both parties spilt the cost) but that conflicts with the current business model that Listia operates under.

Thanks for attempting the 'math' for the delivery confirmation but the USPS 1st Class Parcel cost is variable based on weight also, so my number was averaged out to protect me.

thanks and good luck!
