The listing, Cameo Brooch has ended.

A retro cameo brooch, gold, 1 7/8 inch long. I could not see any brand name on it. I do not know how many carats the gold is.

Questions & Comments

Since the 1800's gold and silver have been marked. Sometimes on the clasp. You may be able to see it with a magnifying glass. Is the cameo shell or resin? Size of cameo? Fanned and watching. Hope you will fan back.

Rather, the stick pin on back of the brooch is held on the shank by a tiny screw.

If there are no markings, most pawn shops can tell you the gold karat. Some jewelry stores will tell you.

The cameo looks like resin, but I don't know the difference in that and shell; the cameo itself is just over 1/2 inch wide, and the the widest part of the brooch, 7/8 of an inch. I looked all over the clasp and pin on back with a magnifying glass and could not see any markings. The gold looks like it is gold plated. The pin is put in the shank by a tiny brad and screw.
