The listing, Lemon Balm - Live Divisions has ended.
Lemon Balm is a perennial herb in the mint family Lamiaceae.
The leaves have a gentle lemon scent, related to mint. During summer, small white flowers full of nectar appear. These attract bees, hence the genus name Melissa (Greek for 'honey bee'). The lemon scent probably is attributed to its 24% citronellal content.
Botanical: Melissa officinalis
Common: Lemon Balm
USDA Zone 4-9
While it prefers full sun, it is moderately shade-tolerant, much more so than most herbs. In dry climates, it grows best in partial shade. It can also be easily grown as an indoor potted herb. In zone 4, it has been recommended to provide mulching over the winter in case adequate snow cover does not occur. My lemon balm is close to the house, so protection is offered from wind and weather.
Listing is for 3 divisions with roots freshly dug from my garden. Secure packaging with delivery confirmation.

The crushed leaves, when rubbed on the skin, are used as a repellant for mosquitoes.
Lemon balm is also used medicinally as a herbal tea, or in extract form. It is claimed to have antibacterial and antiviral properties.
