The listing, Jackfruit Seeds - Super Sweet and Orange Flesh - 2 has ended.
Jackfruit is the largest known treeborne fruit. It is a nutritional bonanza: high in protein, potassium and vitamin B. Even a small jackfruit weighs 10-15lbs, and there are recorded specimens of more than 100lbs. If you just eat 10 or 12 bulbs of this fruit, you don't need food for another half a day.
Once a jackfruit is cracked open, what you will find inside are pods or "bulbs". These bulbs are actually a kind of fleshy covering for the seeds, which are round and dark like chesnuts. The sweet fleshy part (the "bulb") can be eaten as is, or cut up and cooked. When unripe (green), it is remarkably similar in texture to chicken, making jackfruit an excellent vegetarian substitute for meat. In fact, canned jackfruit (in brine) is sometimes referred to as "vegetable meat".
The bulbs may then be enjoyed raw or cooked (with coconut milk or otherwise); or made into ice cream, chutney, jam, jelly, paste, "leather", or canned in syrup made with sugar or honey with citric acid added. The crisp types of jackfruit are preferred for canning. The ripe bulbs are mechanically pulped to make jackfruit nectar or reduced to concentrate or powder.
The seeds are delicious and can be boiled, roasted over coal or ground into flour. Even the tree itself is valuable: high-quality, rot-resistant timber for furniture and musical instruments. Throw the seeds in fire and eat once the skin becomes charred. Another option is to use fry pan.
The seeds I am listing are those of the orange fleshed jackfruits which are superior than the yellow ones and are extremely delicious and crisp.
I will ship the seeds once the payment is made and the Listia verified address is sent. I accept PAYPAL, money order, check and concealed cash.
